Subsidized vs Non-Subsidized — which one?

Subsidized (Open Merit) seats have lower fees but are reserved for KPK-domicile / Ex-FATA students and are more competitive. Non-Subsidized (Self Finance) seats are open to all Pakistani nationals at a higher fee — a great route if you're outside KPK or want a specialization (like AI or Cyber Security) on a self-finance basis.

4. Eligibility Criteria

Domicile

CategoryWho can apply
Subsidized (Open Merit)Khyber Pakhtunkhwa domicile holders, or Ex-FATA (NMDs)
Non-Subsidized (Self Finance)All Pakistani nationals

Academic requirement

You must have passed one of the following with at least 50% unadjusted marks:

  • Intermediate with Pre-Engineering / Computer Science / Pre-Medical (or equivalent), or
  • Intermediate / DAE (or equivalent) with Mathematics
Good to know Pre-Medical students are eligible to apply, and students awaiting their Part-II result can also apply. The "unadjusted marks" rule means grace/improvement marks are not counted — check your official result sheet.

5. Merit Formula — No Entry Test 🎯

Merit is determined entirely from your previous academic record using Intermediate Part-I / DAE Part-II marks — there is no entry test:

UET Peshawar Computing Merit Formula
40% Matric (or equivalent)  +  60% Intermediate Part-I / DAE Part-II  =  Merit
No entry-test component. Confirm the exact policy in the official prospectus.

Because Intermediate Part-I carries 60% of the weight, your FSc/ICS Part-I result is the single biggest factor in your merit. Strong Matric marks help, but Part-I is where admission is won.

6. How to Apply — Step by Step

The whole process is online and takes only a few minutes once your documents are ready:

  1. Visit the admissions portal

No call letters are issued — watch your online profile and the university website for the 1st (10 July), 2nd (17 July) and final (23 July) merit lists, then complete admission/interview on the given dates.

7. Scholarships 💰
